Sevens
Originally the Lusaka International Mosi Sevens
this tournament was re-branded to the Castle Sevens in 2007. The showpiece
of the ZRFU calander this is an international tournament with both African
National teams and South African and British professional club sides being
invited. Past participants have included The Emerging Boks, Mpumalanga,
Western Province, Golden Lions, Blue Bulls and Eastern Province from South
Africa and The British Army, Samurai and Public School Wanderers from
the UK. National teams that have partcipated include Zimbabwe, Kenya,
Namibia, Botswana, Uganda and Madagascar. In 2004 the tournament was used
as the Central and Southern African World Cup Qualifying Event for the
2005 World Cup in Hong Kong.
