Ladies rugby is relatively new to Zambia, only being seriously introduced in 2006.

Although most of the National Team is made up of members of the Green Eagles Rugby Football Club, Lusaka and Red Arrows both have ladies training sessions as do a number of the Copperbelt clubs.

In 2008, Lusaka Rugby Club formed a cheer-leaders team which has introduced over 20 ladies to the sport of rugby.
